Stewardship Rotation

A community coalesces around a shared purpose, a vibrant ecosystem taking root. In the beginning, its life force flows from a few dedicated founders—the central trunks of a young banyan tree. They pour their energy into its growth, their passion the sunlight and their labor the water. The community flourishes under their care. New members are drawn to this vitality, finding shade and nourishment. The initial structure is simple, informal, and highly effective. Decisions are made quickly, and action is swift. This deep reliance on a few key individuals feels like a strength, a testament to their vision and commitment. The system is stable, productive, and growing, yet its very architecture creates a hidden vulnerability. The entire canopy, the whole living network, depends on the health of those few central trunks, assuming they will be there to support the system indefinitely.

The initial founders, the primary stewards, become bottlenecks. Their energy, once a boundless source, begins to wane under the relentless pressure of being the sole support system.
